Full Smart Meter Integration
The SmartValve® fully integrates with an independent smart or mechanical meter. The SmartValve® uploads data to the platform, while the platform instructs the SmartValve® to open, close, or restrict water supply to individual users or entire areas.
Remote Water Supply Control
The SmartValve® enables remote management of the water supply. The valve can be opened, closed, restricted, or programmed to dispense a predetermined amount of water directly from the control platform. Councils and property managers no longer need to employ meter readers to perform these functions. Indigent water usage can be remotely managed by dispensing
pre-set daily allocations (approximately 200L per day). Effective control assists in reducing
non-revenue water losses caused by leaks, damaged plumbing, burst pipes, and unmanaged consumption.
Leak Detection
Water wastage caused by leaks can be detected by the management platform software, allowing the relevant water authority to be notified promptly.
​​Automated Valve Testing
The SmartValve® performs an automated weekly test by conducting an open-and-close routine. The valve must physically close successfully to pass the test. Test results are transmitted to the platform, where monthly or annual reports can be accessed, and faults logged for maintenance follow-up.
Tamper Detection & Automatic Shut-Down
If the meter reading probe is compromised or cut, the system triggers an automatic valve shut-off and instantly alerts the platform. Notably, the SmartValve® maintains a purely wireless connection to any smart meter.
Reliable IoT Communication
The SmartValve® communicates wirelessly using Sigfox or NB-IoT, transmitting meter readings, valve status, alarms and test results while receiving remote control instructions from the management platform.
